Bishop Street

This year Bishop Street Methodist Church has been named in the attractions of this year's Heritage Open Day. Hundreds of the events have been inspired by the National Churches Trust's 'Extraordinary Women' theme to celebrate the stories of local women past and present.

Visit us on Saturday 8th September and take a tour of Leicester's spectacular Methodist Chapel with its Italianate wrought iron pulpit and beautifully carved Father Smith organ case. Consult our historic registers for your family history research or see a special display of the city's pioneering women preachers from the 19th century.

Further details can be found on the National Churches website under the heading Pioneering Preachers and in the separate Publication on this website.
