Rev'd Ian Hu

I arrived here in Leicester Trinity Circuit on 1 September 2025, and am serving alongside Deacon Sharon Dilley with the churches at Blaby, Cosby, Countesthorpe, South Wigston and Wigston Magna. I previously served for 19 years in the Liverpool District (now the North West England District), specialising in both inner city and city centre contexts. My previous appointment also included serving as the Methodist chaplain to Liverpool John Moores University. Prior to this, I served my probationer appointment in the Hull (East) Circuit and was ordained as presbyter at the 2003 Methodist Conference at Llandudno. I arrived in the British Methodist Conference in 2000 as a one-year American Residency Intern in the Preston Circuit, before I was asked to take a full five year appointment here in the UK. I received my Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree in 2000 from Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia USA, and enjoy travel, weightlifting, singing, baking and I’m currently studying Italian language.
